Hello,
Just a few reminders:
• Please return volunteer slips. I am going to have a volunteer training in October.
• Monday, September 17 will be Hacker Valley Open House. There are a variety of activities planned. From 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 parents may choose one or more of the following sessions.
- Mike Shartiger, the technology coordinator for Webster County Schools will be here to show a new piece of technology called the interactive whiteboard.
- Lisa Hayhurst Knight. our school counselor, will be here so that you may drop by.
- Christina Cochran is our new school nurse. She will be available to answer questions.
- Jackie Chipps will be talking about her role as reading specialist.
- The West Virginia 5tate Treasurer’s Office will be here to talk about the 529
College Savings Plan.
- Donnie Holcomb will be here to distruibute forms and answer clerical questions.
- Anita Pugh will be presenting a 20 minute standards-based math lesson.
- Mary Myers and Colleen Ware will be presenting information regarding the new language arts series.
- Michael Cool will be in the gym to supervise children and to showcase the bb program and the hot air bounce.
- Susan Rodriquez will be our guest as well. She will begin at 7:00 and talk about the AMBERVIEW program. This is a safety program designed to track missing or abducted children.
- Renee Anderson will be available for consultation at some point during the evening. She is dividing her time between Hacker Valley and Diana that evening.
- The Hacker Valley Parent Teacher Group will be providing money for refreshments. Donna Boggs and Sue McKissic will prepare and serve refreshments that evening.
